Several weeks in late December spend in Wales with very challenging weather to get outside and shoot. Three of the five locations where we had great opportunities were a day out at Margam Park and a few hours out Southerndown and Ogmore.
Early December birthday trip to Charleston, SC was amazing! Wonderful food, great scenery and history to explore, and a great birthday buddy to share it with.
Making up for lost time earlier in the summer by including a few trips to Hagerman’s on the weekends. At end of August a few of the early migratory birds were starting to make their way through. Volunteer time in the Butterfly Garden is a great way to stock up on butterfly photos.
We spent 10 days in early April in Canada and I fell in love all over again. Day 1 – Vancouver – Stanley Park, Granville Market, Bloedel Conservatory, and VanDusen Gardens. Spent most of our time on Victoria Island near Sooke. Rental house was small but quiet and comfortable and the scenery amazing.
Prosper Town Lake is a great place to see wildlife and birds and is just down the street from me. I often hop on my bike or in the car and run over there in the mornings if I have an extra hour.

Visit to Hagerman Wildlife Refuge on March 4th for the Little Sit bird count. Currently there are numerous pelicans, shovelers, and other migrating water birds stopping in the refuge on their way back north, along with many of the usual suspects. Visit to Cincinnati was a great success. Visited Sharon Woods, Krohn’s Conservatory, and Newport Aquarium. Stayed at Nederland Plaza and ate at Maplewood Kitchen for breakfast.
