Early Fall Activity – September to October

Very busy Fall so far at home but I have managed to squeeze in a few quick trips out with my camera. Early September was a stop in at the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center for some close up views of their beautiful rescue birds. https://bpraptorcenter.org/

Quick trip in early October to the Dallas Arboretum to look at their pumpkin display this year…..

A drive up to Hagerman’s to check in on the water levels (low) and to see what was there.

Trip to Farmer’s Branch rose gardens to look around. Sadly the rose rosette disease (RRD) has appeared in some their roses and they are trying to fight that now. But still some beautiful roses to be found.

Plus – a couple of morning trips to Prosper Town Lake in the morning to stretch my legs and get the camera out.

Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

June 5 – Visited Wichita Mountains WR with members of the Hagerman Photo Club, including my daughter. Very short visit but is an amazing place that is on my list to return to soon.

Hagerman Wildlife Refuge – August

Making up for lost time earlier in the summer by including a few trips to Hagerman’s on the weekends. At end of August a few of the early migratory birds were starting to make their way through. Volunteer time in the Butterfly Garden is a great way to stock up on butterfly photos.

Prosper Town Lake – Ongoing

Prosper Town Lake is a great place to see wildlife and birds and is just down the street from me. I often hop on my bike or in the car and run over there in the mornings if I have an extra hour.
